Today Draxtor Despres led us all on a tour of the newly-redecorated 114 Harvest, and then we visited two Hallowe’en-themed Sansar experiences:
- Spinnervale by Debi Baskerville, and
- Trick or Treat by Solas and SIN.
Unfortunately, we all crashed out of Trick or Treat, and I decided to just watch Drax’s livestream instead of logging back into Sansar.
Here is Drax’s livestream:
And here is Strawberry’s livestream:
Haunted Castle is a Hallowe’en experience created by MB Robonaught, who is perhaps best known for her Kustom Klassics line of Second Life vehicles. You find yourself in a dimly-lit series of corridors inside a stone castle, with mice scurrying along the floor at your feet.
A restless ghost wanders the hallways. Keep exploring the castle rooms until you discover who this ghostly woman is!
Solas and SIN teamed up to create this fun Hallowe’en experience! Grab your free trick-or-treat basket from the Sansar Store and hit the houses on this street!
Hey Guys & Ghouls,
Solas & I are proud to present a fun Trick or Treat Experience (great in both VR & Desktop):
YOUR LIMO AWAITS -> https://atlas.sansar.com/experiences/sin/trick-or-treat
As the evening draws near and the light disappears,
Take to the street with anticipation of fear,
Go door to door asking for delights,
Not knowing the dangers that dwell in the night.
HINT: ~Find your way through the Crypt to join our Spooky Halloween Party~
Galen has been busy! He says:
Jasmine and I have been working most of our waking hours this past month to bring out our best contributions to the Halloween contest. I split my time between Alfy’s (Subway Nightmare) and Jasmine’s “Miner Difficulties”:
Jasmine is a storyteller. She follows up her award-winning Through the Waterfall experience with this second story and really hits it out of the park with an excellent build and a concept that is both whimsical and blood-curdling.
I am not going to say anything about this experience (beyond posting a photo of the initial scene above) and I am going to ask you to just go and see it for yourself. Jasmine and Galen have outdone themselves here! Excellent work and excellent narrative! This is one of the best immersive Sansar experiences that I have ever visited! This is definitely a contender for Sansar’s Scariest Experience contest, the deadline of which is today.
I first heard about this experience yesterday and I put it on my checklist of places to explore today. You arrive in a small, candle-lit entrance hall, where you are greeted by the butler’s voice, who welcomes you to the mysterious mansion. You pass through the doors and immediately enter into a large arched room with a grand staircase leading to the second floor. It is pouring rain outside, and the occasional flashes of lightning illuminate the dimly-lit interior.
While there, I was pleased to see Inara Pey! She was also exploring the house; we were the only two people there. She and I traded notes about the secrets of the rambling old house.
She reported that, in desktop mode, some parts of the mansion were so dark that she could not navigate them. I also noticed (when I switched to desktop mode to chat with her) that the house seemed darker than in VR mode. I did find a staircase that led to the house’s basement, but it was so dark (even in the VR headset) that once I was down there, I could not find my way back upstairs and I had to re-teleport into the experience from the Sansar Atlas in order to re-orient myself.
You can pick up multiple objects in this experience (Inara told me about a book and a skull she had found, but I could not find them). Look for the hidden passageway!
Be sure to visit and explore The House of Woe, created by Nick the Brain Guy.
I’m afraid I am going to miss this one outing, but it promises to be great fun! Meet at 114 Harvest at 10:00 a.m. Sansar Time/Pacific Time, and come in costume! Remember, it’s Friday the 13th!!
UPDATE 12:13 p.m.: Drax is livestreaming the event (unfortunately, you’ll have to watch it over on YouTube):
The Subway Nightmare is a brand-new Hallowe’en experience created by Alfy (of the oYo brand in Sansar) and Galen (the scripting genius). It features lots of animation (as you might expect from Galen) and lots of monsters (as you might expect from Alfy)!
I’m deliberately not going to post pictures of this one (well, okay, maybe just one of the start) so as not to spoil the effect. Your first goal is to make it out of the subway. Your second goal, well…. is just to survive!
Job well done, Galen and Alfy!
