Atlas Hopping with Drax, Episode Twelve!

We started our journey with a revisit to Silas Merlin’s art experience, Felsenmeer, I was happy to see that Silas had added to his experience, here are some photos of the new art:

Our next stop was the Arena Live Music Stage, created by Alfy. Vinne (a.k.a. Acoustic Rhapsody in SL) was performing for an appreciative crowd of fifteen avatars, including many new people I had never met before (I was sending out friend requests like crazy!).

After Vinnie wraps up his hour-long performance, musical artist Suzen Juel (who like Vinnie also performs in Second Life) takes the stage at 12 noon Sansar Time/Pacific Time. If you have time, please do come down and enjoy the music!

Drax’s livestream of our Atlas Hopping is here. A group followed Drax, left the still-ongoing concert at the Arena, and went to a new experience called Ivo’s Call, by Ravioli. From there they went on to visit a fourth experience called Anu, by Anu Amun.

Pick of the Day: Felsenmeer

I first visited Felsenmeer on an Atlas Hopping tour with Draxtor Despres and Strawberry Singh two weeks ago. This experience was created by the Second Life and Sansar artist Silas Merlin, who in real life is Jean-François Le Saint.

The lighting in Sansar is so wonderful, and Silas makes full use of it in his experience.

Silas has installed his sculptures all around the rocky landscape. Near the spawn point, there is a large house where he displays his circus artworks.

In particular, I noticed a charming, tiny clown balancing his tophat on his nose.

Then yesterday, while wandering around through the art exhibit Transformations at the University of Western Australia sims in Second Life, I came across this wonderful video by Glasz Decuir that shows Silas’ creative process at work while creating this tiny clown statue:

Felsenmeer is a truly inspiring experience and I would encourage you to come in-world and take a look! You can also buy Silas Merlin’s artworks on the Sansar Store to place in your own experiences.

This panoramic scene is a screenshot from Draxtor Despres’s video of our Atlas Hopping adventure yesterday afternoon (which I highly recommend you watch if you missed Drax’s live stream of the event). I am standing on a hilltop, looking out over the wide expanse of countryside. This experience is by French artist Silas Merlin, and it is called Felsenmeer (German for “sea of rocks”). Silas has a large number of his artistic works on display in this experience, and it is so wonderful to be able to walk around and look at his art in this beautiful environment. Silas also has a number of his artworks and creations listed for sale in the Sansar Store, that you can purchase and install in your own experiences.
