Scene of the Day: Enchanted Wedding Place

Wedding 3 September 2017

Sansar has only been open to the public for a little over a month, and there’s already a place where you can get married! (Where you can buy a wedding dress is another problem entirely.) This is the Enchanted Wedding Place by Deianira Serenity.

Pick of the Day: Empyrean – Keep of the Firmament

Empyrean1 3 September 2017

You materialize outside the gate of an imposing stone wall. As you enter the gate, a stirring soundtrack swells.

Empyrean 2 3 September 2017

You enter a purple-lit portico and are teleported to the top of the keep’s wide walls.

This is the world of Empyrean – Keep of the Firmament, a Sansar experience created by Nick the Brain Guy.

Pick of the Day: Voyage Live: Egypt

Today’s Pick of the Day is Sansar Studios’ own Voyage Live: Egypt. You arrive in what appears to be an archaeologist’s office, complete with various artefacts and mounted animal heads. A huge stone head, lit from below, looms over the desk:

A Tyrannosaurus Rex skeleton hangs over a map of Egypt spread across a stone table:

At the far end of the office are three doors. Each takes you to an archaeological site which you can explore at leisure. At each site is a red door which teleports you back to the archaeologist’s office.

Voyage Live: Egypt is one of my favourite Sansar experiences! It’s just so well done! Kudos to the team at Sansar Studios for putting such wonderful detail into this experience.

Atlas Hopping with Drax and Strawberry, Episode 5!

Wow, hard to believe that we are already on Episode 5! I joined the party late because I was busy doing The Renaissance Hunt 7 over in Second Life. There are over 70 wonderful gifts, so be sure to do the hunt before it ends September 30th! Here is my medieval roleplay avatar, Scarborough Fair, wearing the beautiful Lucia gown by Jezzixa Cazalet for Prism Designs, and the Santiago coin brooch by Jacon Cortes Designs, both of which are free Renaissance Hunt gifts:

Coin Brooch 2 Sept 2017

Today we visited four Sansar experiences (I was only at the first three):

  1. Hootenanny, by Lillani
  2. VR Cult – The Events Hub, by Colpo Wexler
  3. Astro Port, by Mold3D
  4. Beginner Yoga Session for Headset Users, by Dutchie

VR Cult Sansar 2 Sept 2017

The VR Cult experience is particularly captivating in a VR headset. As I mentioned earlier when I selected this experience as my Pick of the Day, VR Cult is currently hosting two exhibits of artwork by the Italian artists Matteo Guariso, a photographer, and Francesco Musante, a painter and illustrator.

Here’s Strawberry Singh’s live stream of our Atlas Hopping event:

Pick of the Day: 3D Mind Bending Reversperspective Art

Reverspective Art 4 1 Sept 2017

Today’s Pick of the Day experience has a mouthful of a title: 3D Mind Bending Reversperspective Art! This gallery features the art of Patrick Hughes, who created what he calls “Reverspective” painting: an optical illusion on a 3-dimensional surface where the parts of the picture which seem farthest away are actually physically the nearest!

When you stand on one of the red triangles and look at one of the paintings, you cannot see it in anything but sharp, regular perspective:

It’s only when you move off to the side and look at the painting again that you see how it is really constructed:

Very clever! The experience is particularly suited to users in VR headsets, but the effect still works even if you are in desktop mode.

Thank you to Apmel who first spotted this new experience and blogged about it!
